12 Oct 12.09.16 BSB, Oulton Park: Ixon’s Jason O Halloran narrowly misses podium points due to gear-box failure
After just bordering on podium places in the first two races, it appeared that Ixon’s Jason O’Halloran was likely to grab a podium victory in the third and final race of the 9th round of BSB in Oulton park, yet sadly the 29 year old racer encountered problems with his gearbox during the pivotal last laps, which caused him to retire and therefore miss out on potential podium points.
The Australian racer admitted he was ‘gutted’ but remains positive for the final showdown saying ‘I feel that we’ve found more speed and we are competitive, I think Donington and Assen will suit us, we’ve also had some good rounds at Brands so it’s all to play and fight for’.
O’Halloran enters the showdown race in joint-third place, with just 33 points below the leader, its clear the Ixon champion has the ability and the optimism to battle for the winning title: We have the fight in us, and the right package to get the results; we just need to pull it all together now.’ – Jason O’halloran
